WHO WRECKED THE TEETER-TOTTER ON SNAKES AND LADDERS?
WE KNOW WHO REMOVED IT!

April 29, 2000

Forget all the rumours about what happened to the teeter-totter at the top of Snakes and Ladders. Here is the story as told to SIMBS by the guy who built it.

Boyd McIvor is a member of the trail crew "Team Bite Me". They built both Snakes and Ladders and the teeter-totter before SIMBS took on stewardship of the park. Both are favourites of many riders and both are well built. Boyd noticed a few weeks ago that someone had tried to wreck and/or remove both the teeter-totter and the stunt immediately following it. They were left in an unstable and dangerous condition.

Not wanting to see the structures wrecked, stolen, or left in a dangerous condition, he took it upon himself to remove them. It wasn't SIMBS, it wasn't CRD, it was Boyd himself taking responsible action in response to irresponsible destruction by some unknown persons or person.

Boyd has agreed to working with SIMBS to get the teeter-totter approved by CRD and re-installed. He will submit a drawing of the structure, and a description of it to SIMBS. After review and approval by the SIMBS trails committee, we will submit it to CRD.

Many thanks to Boyd and Team Bite Me for the work in the past and the constructive approach now that will hopefully see the teeter-totter back in action. SIMBS encourages others to take the same approach. If you want to see stunts and constructions permanently installeed in Hartland, call Landon MacLean 598-5997 about the Who's Yer Daddy Project.
