Race Results

It's not a race, it's an adventure! After Mother Nature teased us with a sunny day on Saturday, sixty two racers braved a steady downpour of rain, mud and slippery rock for the Hartland Freecross Challenge. The race was enjoyed by all, a tribute to the hard work of all the volunteers. Thanks to all our sponsors, the time and score keepers who stood in the rain for almost three hours, those who helped clean up afterwards and a big thanks to all the racers that came out and competed despite the challenging conditions. I would also like to recognize the volunteers who spent time over the last month gettig the course in top shape for the race. There were four categories: Beginner, Intermediate, Women and Expert run in consecutive heats, at timed intervals. Racers faced a course that was typical of Hartland terrain: steep slippery rock, mud, and traversing singletrack with six "challenge" sections. At each Challenge section, riders had a choice of a no bonus route, a 5 second bonus route, and a 10 second bonus route. The winning time was a blistering 2 minutes and 23 seconds after bonus time adjustments. Also a great job by Tig Cross for providing the timing equipment.

A BIG Thanks goes out to all our donators for the draw prizes and supplies.

THE "20 - 20 - 20 " RULE
The International Mountain Biking Association says: "20 hours of trail work, $20 to IMBA, and $20 to your local MTB organization." SIMBS membership is only $20, but IMBA's is US$ so it balances out.
