Click here to view the hose in all it's full blown glory! Rider's Cycle Givin' Air (Posted November 19th, 2004)
Rider's Cycle has donated a compressor to SIMBS which has been installed in the tool shed at the Mount Work Hartland parking lot. This heavy duty unit should give us air for years to come and was a sizeable investment for Rider's. Thanks Bill Fry and the Rider's gang for the huge support!! Click here for a larger image! After a bit of delay we finally got authorization from CRD to post a sign on the tool shed. You'll find the hose on the north side of the tool shed. Dogs seem to like this spot too, so please wrap up the hose when your done, otherwise you may get more of a handful than you had expected.

ATTENTION - Dirt Jump Park Meeting in Metchosin on Monday, August 16th at 6:30 PM!! (Posted August 13th, 2004)
Calling ALL dirt jump enthusiasists - there is a crucial dirt jump park meeting at the next Metchosin Council Meeting on Monday, August 16 at 6:30pm. The address is: 4450 Happy Valley Road. SIMBS has been advised that the Bike Park issue will be on the agenda at the next Metchosin council meeting. There still appears to be fairly strong local opposition, so it's really important that we rally representation to help council see that there is positive support for the park. Our information is that the council will actually vote on the issue at this meeting. If you, or anyone you know can make it to the meeting, it will make a great difference. There's no need for everyone who attends to make a public presentation, but your physical presence will make a real impact.

Metchosin Jump Park Meeting (Posted Mar 1st, 2004)
The Public Relations and Parks Committee of the District of Metchosin is meeting on March 1st, Monday evening at 6:30pm. On their agenda is a letter asking them to consider a jump park in their community as a healthy lifestyle option for young folk in Metchosin. If you live in or around Metchosin, or if you are keen on supporting the idea of jump/terrain parks for bikers on the south island, it would be great if you could make the meeting. The district hall is behind the fire hall in Metchosin city centre.

___6:30pm, Monday, March 1st, District of Metchosin municipal hall, council chambers.__

Hope you can make it.

Remember, it's really, really important that the people making the political decisions see interest on the part of the public. If there is no representation, then there is no need for politicians to take any action. If there are bikers there, then the committee will be more inclined to support us.

Younger bikers:
talk to your parents, or others who might drive you there and back. Your presence is much more influential than that of a bunch of adults. Don't miss the opportunity to convince the people who make the decisions that you would like to see a jump park built.

What: Meeting to decide to fate of a Jump Park in Metchosin

Where: District of Metchosin municipal hall, council chambers (The district hall is behind the fire hall right in downtown Metchosin)

When: March 1st, 2004 at 6:30 p.m.

Why: Because we love to jump! Please come out and show support.

Patrick Henry
SIMBS DJ Advocate.
